White Tea – Your Questions Answered!

IS WHITE TEA HEALTHY?

Yes. White tea has as much as triple the antioxidants of other types of tea – even more than green tea does!

It can help with various conditions and illnesses and even gives your immune system a much needed boost!

It may even assist with the fight against aging!

CAN WHITE TEA HELP WITH CANCER?

Possibly. There is some evidence to suggest that white tea may help lessen the risks of cancer.

The beneficial effects in the battle against lung cancer have been researched.

IS WHITE TEA CAFFEINATED?

Yes. However, it has a lower level of caffeine in it, than do other beverages. It is far lower than coffee – with less than a third the caffeine content.

White tea typically contains a lower caffeine level than green tea does, also.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT WHITE TEA?

White tea starts off life as green tea. Both come from the tea plant Camellia Sinensis. However, it is picked and used with the younger buds.

The resultant flavour is therefore much milder than with some other forms of tea.

HOW ELSE IS WHITE TEA DIFFERENT FROM OTHER TEAS?

White tea differs from other types of tea because it is less processed. This means it requires less time and manpower to prepare.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER BENEFITS TO WHITE TEA?

Yes. We have hardly scratched the surface when it comes to the health benefits of white tea.

It is, amongst other things, good at protecting the skin from the detrimental properties of UV light.

Although we still recommend applying sunscreen in the summer, the antioxidant’s in white tea can help damaged skin to regenerate itself at double quick timing!

WHERE SELLS WHITE TEA?

White tea is more widely available than it used to be. Perhaps not that long ago it was only known to specialists and to be found in health shops.

Although your local health shop or herbalist is a good place to look for a quality white tea, you don’t have to go that far, to get some.

Today, most major supermarkets stock white tea and it is far more mainstream than it used to be. You should be able to find some in your local Walmart or grocery store.

ARE TEABAGS OR LOOSE TEA BEST FOR WHITE TEA?

This is a question which is asked of all types of tea. Invariably, the answer will rest with each person individually.

However, for tea experts, the correct choice is always going to be loose tea.

Especially for a white tea, which is supposed to be unprocessed, the benefits are more clearly seen with the loose tea varieties.
